There are many activities to look forward to in the new term, and in the New Year generally.  On January 20th we have our Winter Activity day for Scouts and Explorers, held at Thornthwaite.  There will be lots of activities, including abseiling, mountain biking, crafts, backwoods cooking to name but a few.  Later in the term Scouts and Explorers will be going on the London Monopoly Run, very much enjoyed by all who went last year, leaders and young people alike.  It would be good if one of our teams could win the overall competition again, as we did last year.
For Cubs the Cross Country competition will be held in April, instead of the usual September.  By then the nights will be lighter, and the weather better, we hope.

There are some changes in the District team.  Some of you will have seen the announcement from County that a new Deputy District Commissioner for Programme has been appointed, Nicholas Shepherd. He will be checking all programmes, and once settled into the role will be available to offer advice, so please send all your new term programmes to him –  Please continue to send details of times when you are out of your normal meeting place to the DC.

Craig Moscardini remains as Deputy District Commissioner also and will be coordinating District events.

We look forward to more fun and adventure in the new term, as the nights become lighter and there is more opportunity to get outdoors!
